Background: Videorama was an erotic flim production company and distributor founded in 1979. It prusemly dissolved in 1988.
Nickname: "Funky Spirals"
Logo: We see a blue and white spiral pattern tilted to the right. As a guitar lick begins to play, the spiral pattern rapidly fuzzes up and changes color. This goes on for a few seconds, then on a translucent black background the word VIDEORAMA (in a blocky '70s-style font) on a whitish background surrounding the letters appears several times, gradually getting larger. Then the "VIDEO" half appears, then the "RAMA" half, and the full word appears, then the word zooms in. The spiral pattern fades out and the words:
Presenteert Präsentiert Presents
(in a different '70s-style font) quickly fade in.
FX/SFX/Cheesy Factor: The spiral background and changing colors look pretty cool, but the "fuzzing up" really looks tacky. But what's really cheesy about this logo is the word "VIDEORAMA" appearing so many times.
Music/Sounds: A 1970s rock tune that turns into a loud and proud bombastic orchestral fanfare.
Availability: Seen on porn tapes from the U.S. and PAL regions, such as Trashi.
Scare Factor: Low to medium; the spiral background, bombastic fanfare, and "VIDEORAMA" may get to some.
Nickname: "The Eye", "Pink Videorama"
Logo: On a black background, we see a pink circle, with other pink circles that pop up a couple times for a split second surrounding it, zooming in slowly After that, they disappear, then another circle appears with pink stars flashing in the background, while still zooming in. Then an orange shape draws around the circle to resemble an eye. As the eye gets closer to the screen, it disappears, then letters quickly appear from left to right to form the word VIDEORAMA then a blue box surrounds the word, with lines also surrounding the box, the color in the letters disappears. After a seconds the word becomes light pink, while the box changes to hot pink, the lines around the box disappear, forming the logo, the word "PRESENTS.." appears below the logo, and the stars come back, while the logo slowly zooms out from us.
FX/SFX: Zooming in, stars flashing.
Cheesy Factor: The animation screams 1980s.
Music/Sounds: A 1970s sounding theme.
Availability: Rare. Seen on porn videos at the time.
Scare Factor: Low to medium, the animation may get to some.
