Logo descriptions by mr3urious, LogosForTheWin, and MegaAveron25 Video capture courtesy of I am Arcade
Logo: We see a jittery TV screen with bluish static and a film countdown leaderboard on it. The Shout! Factory logo that's consisting of five unevenly-arranged rectangles alternating between red and black colors in a pattern with an exclamation point at the end, with "SHOUT" displayed on each rectangle letter-by-letter with the exclamation point at the end and "FACTORY" is shown below it in between two horizontal lines, comes into focus, flashing a bit. As the leaderboard finishes the static remains, and then fades away after a couple of seconds. The logo tilts a bit before fading out.
- Some feature film releases features the logo in widescreen (actually non-anamorphic widescreen, as it's rather cheaply horizontally stretched.)
- On the last releases with this logo, an alternate variant was used. Here, the countdown stays in the same place, is green, and the blocks that make up "SHOUT!" zoom towards the camera one by one.
FX/SFX: The static, leaderboards, and logo focusing.
Music/Sounds: A film projector running combined with static, electric buzzing, and a VID-like whirring sound.
Music/Sounds Variant: There is also a higher-pitched variant of the logo music. So far, this was only known to have been seen on CatDog: Season 2, Part 2.
Availability: Seen on DVDs released from the company, mostly classic TV shows and films. One of the first overall DVDs to use this was a Fats Domino DVD, and the first TV release to use this was Freaks and Geeks: The Complete Series. Also appears on Blu-rays, but in the DVD quality.
Scare Factor: Medium, problably due to the logo's sudden appearance that comes on the screen. Also, for those aware of the VID Soviet Scary Mask logo, the odd whirring at the start might get to you, particularly for the scare factor to rise.
(Summer 2014- )
Logo: On a white background, the letters that make up "SHOUT" fly in from the left one by one as "FACTORY" appears. The exclamation point then appears, and the logo fades to black.
FX/SFX: The letters animating.
Cheesy Factor: The animation is very simple in comparison to the previous logo and always reminds you of an amateur Adobe Flash animation.
Music/Sounds: A distant explosion sound followed by a series of short swooshes.
Availability: Current. Possibly debuted on Prisoners of War: Season 1, and can be seen on newer Shout! Factory releases, such as The Battery, My Little Pony: Equestria Girls – Rainbow Rocks, WKRP In Cincinnati: The Complete Series, The Thing, Mystery Science Theater 3000 releases, and releases of Lou Grant.
Scare Factor: None, it's just boring.
