Background: Platinum Dunes is a production company founded in 2001 by the infamous film director Michael Bay. Platinum Dunes specializes in horror film remakes, as well as sequels to remakes and original projects. However, this company didn't use a logo until 2003.

1st Logo (2003-2009)

After a few seconds, the lines fill in with color and reveal themselves to be a drawing of dunes in a desert. As a sky fades in over the dunes, "PLATINUM DUNES", in a silver font, zooms in underneath the picture (compressed in a box) and shines.

Variant: Starting in 2006, the logo freezes after the dunes are formed.

FX/SFX: CGI animation of the dunes.
