Central Park Media was a relatively well-known anime and manga company. It was one of the first companies (along with AnimEigo, US Renditions, Streamline Pictures and ADV Films) to release uncut anime in the United States. They did very well in the 1990's and early 2000's, but in 2006, CPM laid off many employees. They laid dormant until April 27th, 2009, when they filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy. Today, some Central Park Media titles have been relicensed by different companies, such as Media Blasters and VIZ Media.

Nickname: "Still Skyline"

Logo: On a black or blue background, we see a still version of the Central Park Media logo, which is a stylized New York skyline.

FX/SFX: None; this is a still logo.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Extremely rare. Seen on the very first tapes released by CPM, such as the initial print of Project A-Ko.

Scare Factor: None.

Nickname: "Bustling City", "Cheap City", "Cheap New York Skyline"

Logo: Early: On the black background, the less-detailed, computer rendered version of the New York City skyline fades in. After the while, a blue gradient background (which is supposed to be the sky) fades in behind the skyline. Below the skyline, the words "CENTRAL PARK" (in sepia) fly in from the right and the word "MEDIA" (also in sepia) spins up from the bottom. Later: We start with a photo of a view of the New York Skyline from what it looks like Central Park. Then, a less detailed, computer-rendered version of the buildings draws itself over the buildings from the photo. As the buildings are done being drawn, the photo disappears, leaving a black background. The picture sliding up slightly to make room for the text, which animates as normal.

FX/SFX/Cheesy Factor: The fading, the words flying and spinning up. In the variant, the dissolve from the photo from the actual animation is very jarring, and why was the photo there from the first place?

Music/Sounds: Crickets chirping for the first half of the logo. Then, sounds of car horns and a jackhammer. For the later version, the crickets chirping is shortned, and it added the tractor sound after the jackhammer sounds.

Availability: Rare. Seen on all releases from Central Park Media up until their bankruptcy. Their last DVD was released in 2007.

Scare Factor: Early Version: Minimal, due to the sounds. Later Version: Low. Some may be put off by the sound effects and the jarring animation, but it's mostly cheap.
